This 2022 E.T. turns 40 years old!! and we are celebrating!!
The film, which was shot between September and December 1981 in California in chronological order to achieve emotional and more convincing performances, had a budget of 10.5 million dollars and became a box office hit. E.T. was the highest-grossing film at the time—surpassing even Star Wars (1977)—and only one other film directed by Spielberg stole the merit: Jurassic Park (1993).
Critics hailed it as a timeless story of friendship and it is ranked as the greatest science fiction film ever made according to a survey by the website Rotten Tomatoes. It was re-released in 1985 and in 2002 to celebrate its twentieth anniversary with additional modified shots and scenes. * information taken from Wikipedia
